Ink
jet printing is simply defined as spraying liquid ink
at a receiving surface. The surface can be virtually
anything, such as corrugated cases or cartons, aluminum
beverage or soup cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles,
bags, linoleum tiles, wires and cables-the possibilities
are endless. This form of printing is inexpensive, reliable
and easy to use offering a consistent print quality
at almost any line speed. Ink jet printing, simply put,
is a marriage of software, electrical, mechanical and
chemical engineering. In short, ink jet printing is
the result of hardware, inks and media working together.
